Beatriz De la Vega
Beatriz is a Director of Corporate Compliance & Transformation (CC&T) / Business Tax Compliance. Currently she is part of the Latin America Centre of Excellence at KPMG US. She has extensive experience in tax advice and tax compliance as well as in international tax planning, mainly for companies in the mining, energy and oil & gas sectors with emphasis in Latin America. Besides, she has experience in tax policy on matters related to climate change, energy transition and ESG.
Beatriz has more than 25 years of experience in tax advice, tax compliance and tax policy in the Latin American region. She has previously developed a long professional career (over 20 years) in another international organization similar to KPMG providing tax and legal advice, where she was tax partner and energy leader.
She also participated in the design of fiscal policies on hydrocarbon and energy transition matters (hydrogen and electromobility) for governmental authorities and associations. She led projects on ESG maturity assessment and policy for energy companies. Previously, she participated as a senior expert in charge of the assessment of the Peruvian climate change mitigation developments in the energy sector to determine and prioritize the Interamerican Development Bank’s financing opportunities.
Beatriz has solid technical, tax, energy, natural resources policy and climate change.
Beatriz is lecturer for a course on “Taxation of Mining and Oil & Gas activities” at the Law Faculty of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and Energy Law at ESAN Financial Program of Peru.
She is an active writer of articles related to her specialty and participates as a speaker in public events organized by specialized energy and tax institutions in Latin America.
She provides mentorship to law students at University of Houston and is part of the mentorship committee of the Houston Bar Association.
